Au Revoir Mes Amis!
by Mindi

Mindi sighed, as she surveyed her room at The Raven which had been her home for the past two weeks... It seemed like just the other day she had arrived, unsure of what was happening, wondering just what this War would bring. During the war she had often wondered if she would have the stamina to keep going until the end, sleep deprivation driving her almost batty! But now, looking at the room that was now once again stripped, she sighed..."Just when I was getting the hang of it" she muttered to herself before she carefully put all her luggage neatly by the door.

All in all she reflected it had gone fairly well, her horses had all done well, and all had nice new wardrobes for the ride home. She smiled as she remembered her final victory ride, cantering around the huge indoor arena, rosettes whipping in the wind, Jeanette, Miklos and all her fellow Ravenettes standing there cheering her on. That was something she would never forget. "And" she murmured to herself "I guess I did all right, no one died, no one lynched me..... " She flung herself onto the luxurious bed fighting back a wave of melancholy that threatened to overwhelm her. Suddenly there was a quiet knock on the door....

Sitting up quickly she strode to the door opening it to reveal Miklos. "Miklos?! What's wrong? What happened? Did someone try and stage a last minute attack?" her eyes darted around in wild anticipation.

"non Cheri" he said softly "Everyone was just wondering where you had gotten off to-"

"oh-" Mindi said quietly "Just lost in my thoughts I guess...." she sighed again "Don't be so sad Cherie" Miklos said quickly "Smile! Be happy! You did marvelously at the show! So Impressive! and don't fret, Jeanette has already said you can come back to The Raven at anytime!" Mindi blinked "Really?" she asked "Really" Miklos said firmly "Now come Cherie! Your plane leaves in a few hours, but let's party, and have a good time non? Come, we must make sure everyone goes home with happy memories!" "Right!" Mindi said and quickly re-pinning her hair she gave Miklos a hug and walked out into the bar to say farewell to all her new friends.....

"Thank you My Lady-" she whispered to Jeanette as she handed the dark-haired Ravenette a small box, inside of which were earrings and a new choker, with the stylized Raven logo on them "For you, what better gift for a "Raven" then a Raven N'est Pas?" She hugged her newest Ravenette warmly before saying "Remember Cherie, the door is always open for you-"

Mindi nodded quickly moving to where her friends sat drinking, laughing and talking -Hugging everyone, she smiled as she brought out small packages for everyone, Jeanette and Miklos included. They were opened to reveal a video CD, at everyone's questioning look she shrugged "I downloaded THE DANCE from the FoD's party... I just thought that way we'd all have something to remember this by..." she paused and took a deep breath before saying "And my last gift to all of you is another song..." Everyone looked around waiting for the sounds system to kick in but instead Mindi pulled a small harp from the odd-shaped case she had sitting beside her and began to play:

"May the road rise up to meet you
may the wind be always at your call,
may the (here she grinned-) moon shine cool upon your face now,
may the rains fall soft upon your fields,
     and until we meet again,
     and until we meet again,
may the Lady of the Night keep a watch upon us all
may Mme. Jeanette keep a watch upon us all"

Everyone was grinning as she finished with a flourish. And Mindi smiled..... It had been a great war after all.

Letting Loose!
by Molly & Kimmer

takes place at the Raven Night Club at War's End

"It's ... gonna be ... GREAT!"

"Yes," Mindi nodded, and kept on nodding. "I've got the... hair! ... for it!".

Kimmer looked from Molly to Mindi, and back again. The two were obviously under the influence of the Raven's well-stocked bar, but not terribly so. At least Molly still had the coordination necessary to work with Mindi's long blue-black hair--although, she reflected, a true Ravenette could do hair blindfolded. She watched as Molly made a careful part along the back of Mindi's head, clipped the top portion of hair up, and started braiding the bottom. "Ah," she said, "BrunnenG, huh?".

"Yuppers," said Molly. "Got a, um, a foundation for it from the beauty supply store..for the bun-part thingie".

"Cool! Oh, by the way, how drunk are you?". Kimmer asked.

"Not drunk," Molly grinned, "just got a buzz on. Never get drunk; don't like it".

"Well, good, because I've called one last meeting".

"Meeting?" Mindi perked up. "Party!".

"No, honey," Kimmer told the EverReady Ravenette. "It's about the next War. We're all a little disappointed that we didn't get to really let loose this time, so I thought we could brainstorm and come up with some ideas for next time".

"Cool." Molly had a mouthful of bobby pins; she took them out and handed them to Bill to hold in his snout. "I wanna do the DPs next time. I don't get a chance to talk to Cousin Mary as much as I'd like, but--she's a bud! a chum! an evil genius of comedy!".

Kimmer nodded and got out her laptop. She got everything set up and started to make notes. "Yes, Cousin Mary is pretty evil. and funny. You know, she didn't play in this War, but I will add that to my notes. We want Cousin Mary to play in the next War. I have to tell you, in her absence, the DPs still did their faction proud. It was a pleasure to war with Anne, Anita, Wolfy, and the rest of their pack".

Molly and Mindi started coming up with other suggestions, while Molly did Mindi's hair. Kimmer put her hand up and said, "Whoa, whoa...let's wait till the others get here. I need a drink". Kimmer looked at Molly's glass and said, "What are you drinking, by the way?".

"Hard cider".

Thinking that sounded cool and refreshing, Kimmer asked Miklos for one. He freshened Molly's while setting Kimmer's down a safe distance from the laptop. "Thanks, Miklos," she said, trying not to think about how long it would be again before the Raven bartender poured her a drink.

Molly finished arranging Mindi's hair in the style of their favorite dead assassin, even pulling down a long forelock to drape artfully over one cheekbone. She opened up her makeup case next and asked, "Do you want me to white out your face first, or just draw the tattoo?".

"No paleface! Us golden-skinned people have to stick together!" Mindi replied adamantly. Since Mindi was Asian and Molly's heritage had given her skin a distinctly yellow cast, they grinned at each other.

Kimmer was admiring the job Molly did on Mindi, when Chanda, LeeAnn, Teresa, Lorna, Alex, Kaiya, Jason, Claudia and Time came into the bar. The last hurrah was upon them. First, though, some business.

"Okay, guys, can I have your attention?" Kimmer asked, and the milling about stopped. "Go ahead and get some drinks, pull up a seat, get comfortable, we need to discuss a little business before we get some serious drinking in here. I want you all to get your drinks and sit down and think about what you want to do in the next War".

The Ravenettes sat down and thought about things. LeeAnn said she wanted to do more pranks next war, and there was an unaminous consensus that more pranks were definitely needed.

"You know what I would like to see?" Kimmer asked to the room in general. "I would like to see a War taking place in winter instead of summer. The last two wars were in summer, and we have a Ravenette that missed both wars because she only has computer access at her college. I think we should have a war like in February, when more college-bound FK fans can play. Sure, whenever you have a war, it is inevitable that the time will be bad for someone. But it shouldn't be the same 'someones' every war".

A murmur of agreement arose thru the ranks. Soon the Ravenettes were spouting out ideas, some doable, some very clever, some very silly, and as always, mayhem ensued. Kimmer typed furiously away on her laptop, trying to keep up with them all.

Eventually, the noise died down again. Alex piped up, "So, does everyone have their travel plans made?". Eyes looked around the room. It appeared that Claudia had taken care of business. So had a few others. Laughter broke out when the Ravenettes found out that their leader still didn't have her plans finalized.

"Aw, c'mon you guys, you know how it is! It's important to get here in a timely manner, but I never worry too much about getting out of here again. It's hard to leave....." Kimmer's voice trailed off. She was *not* going to cry. No, she would raise another toast to her Ravenettes and celebrate their faction!

Farewell to Arms
By Jason Cebalo

Time: Thursday Evening
Place: N&N Pack H.Q.

The Nick and Nat Pack B.B.Q. was just begining, when Eva heard a knock at the door. She opened the door and was surprised to see Jason standing there.

"Don't worry," began Jason,

"There are no Ravennettes sneaking around the back to plant stuff and I'm not here to debate Nick's love life. I just wanted to say goodbye."

Eva looked a little sceptical, but she motioned Jason to come in. She showed him around the theartre before leading him out the back, where the B.B.Q. was just begiining.

Eva introduced Jason to several of the N&N Packers. Jason shook hands and introduced himeself.

"So," remarked Grace, "You're the one responsible for poor Eva spending time in prison."

"Yeah, and I have to say, thanks for letting me of so lightly. Between that and what I said Natalie, I think cookie dough through my hair and clothes constitutes a fairly mild punishment.

"Seriously, though, this has been my first war and you guys were a lot of fun to war against and, well, I just wanted to say thanks, and I'll see you next time."

"Look," said Susan, why don't you stay, for a bit, we've got a B.B.Q. going.

"Thanks," replied Jason, "But I've got to get back to the Raven, finsh saying my goodbyes there."

"Well, it was good to meet you," said Eva, as she lead Jason out.

"Thanks," replied Jason, shaking her hand, "You to."

Jason smiled and headed back to the Raven, his first War had defininatly been good.

Au Revoir
by Claudia

Place: The Raven
Time: Thursday evening, July 19, 2001

The war was over and everything and everyone had returned back to normal. Well, as normal as it ever got where Forever Knight characters and their faction members were concerned.

It had been a busy two weeks, as usual, but Claudia knew that once she got back home to Helsinki she'd miss all the craziness, and her friends. It would be a while before she'd get to see all her fellow Raven/ettes again. Not to mention Janette and Miklos. Alma, too, but somehow Claudia didn't mind that quite as much. She usually tried to steer away from the blond's way if at all possible. Alma's sense of humour was somewhat -- unique, not to mention quite possibly hazardous to one's health. No, even with Janette keeping tabs on the Raven's dwellers it didn't hurt to be careful.

Sighing lightly, Claudia walked over to the bar. "Could I have a ginger ale, please, with lots of ice?"

Placing the drink in front of her, Miklos gave her a questioning look. "Why such a long face, Claudia?"

"Just one more hour and I'll have to leave for the airport." Resting her elbows on the bar, Claudia gave another sigh. "I'm gonna miss all you guys."

"Ah, but there'll be another war and then, you will be back again." Miklos smiled at her.

"I know, and I do kinda miss my family." Returning his smile, Claudia took a sip from her drink. "Mmm, this is exactly what I needed. I just finished packing all my stuff and it was a lot of hard work to get it all fit my luggage."

Taking a look around the Raven Claudia slowly finished her drink. "Have you seen Janette this evening?" she then asked, turning back to Miklos.

The bartender's eyes caught something behind her back and he gave a short nod.

Turning around, Claudia found herself eye to eye with the Dark Lady herself.

"Is something amiss, Claudia?" Janette asked, tilting her heard.

"No, not at all." Claudia gave her a reassuring smile. "I-- I just wanted to thank you before I left, for the plane tickets and for letting us stay here at the Raven again."

"You are very welcome." Janette nodded graciously. "I hope you have enjoyed your stay."

"I always do." Then, smoothing down her midnight blue dress, Claudia got down from the bar stool. "Well, I guess I should go and check my room once more, just to make sure I didn't forget anything."

"Your plane leaves in three hours, n'est-ce pas?" Janette asked. At Claudia's nodded confirmation, she went on, "I have arranged a chauffeur to take you to the airport. He'll be picking up your luggage in half an hour."

"Thank you, Mademoiselle." Claudia smiled in gratitude, and in relief; she'd been dreading trying to carry all her stuff by herself.

"Au revoir."

Momentary Lull
by Kimmer

takes place at the Raven
Wednesday, July 18, 2001

It was quiet in the bar. After all the silliness of the last two weeks, Kimmer relished it. She had been on the phone, making travel arrangements. She needed to get Lorna home, safe and sound, and then herself.

Molly and Mindi came out of the kitchen, and headed to the bar. They pulled up stools on either side of Kimmer. She poured them drinks and they discussed the silliness that had brought them here.

Kimmer was going to miss the Ravenettes terribly. She always did, when a War came to an end. Sure, it was a crazy time, but it was a fun time, too, and she was very fond of all of the Ravenettes.

It was getting later in the day, and they all started to pile in. Time, LeeAnn, Teresa, Chanda and Kaiya all came in together, wheeling Lorna. Kimmer could hear soft screeching sounds emitting from the sack still tied to Lorna's wheelchair.

"Well, Mom, I guess you and Bill will have to visit Lorna now and then. Bill is going to miss his buddy," Kimmer said to Molly.

Molly nodded and said, "That's okay, not a problem! We will want to check in on Lorna and keep in touch. If that is all right with her," Molly finished, looking hopefully at Lorna.

Lorna smiled, fighting the tears that threatened. "You and my little buddy are welcomed, any time! Please, do come visit me, I would enjoy that very much".

Claudia, Alex and Jason came into the bar, having returned from yet another delightful shopping trip. These Ravenettes had the longest voyages ahead of them, and they needed to get last-minute souvenirs before they went home.

Kimmer refused to give into the melancholy. Tonight, they were going to play! They were going to enjoy having Janette, Miklos, Alma, the Raven and all its' visitors in their lives. They were going to celebrate having Janette back, completely back, they were going to celebrate themselves.

One last night in Toronto. The last two weeks sure had flown by.

We'll Be Back
by Molly/StormBorn

Time and Place: FoD Party

"Hmmph!" Molly surveyed the scene, folding her arms in front of her shiny torso. She'd taken the chance of a party to do the Ravenettes proud by dressing in a stunning technopunk outfit of silver spandex, and this was her reward?

"Hmmph, indeed!" agreed Mindi, who was also dressed to the nines (even her wrist sling was covered in black-and-burgundy striped velvet).

"I do not hug," Molly stated firmly. "I do not write on command. And if everybody always gets along and never disagrees, things grow stale pretty fast--isn't that why we *have* Wars?"

"Hmmn...to have fun?" asked Mindi. "To play pranks on other factions?"

"Exactly. Without the different factions the fandom would not be nearly as interesting, but we don't always agree. So if we attack a faction during Wartime, we can have our disagreement and still be friends...um, does that make sense?"

"It does, actually," said Kaiya. "I wish we'd had a chance to do more attacks this War."

"Me, too," sighed the GothPunk. "I mean, I *really* wanted to get into the DP Mansion and re-do their wardrobes...Tracy's especially!"

"It was still great playing with you all," Mindi said, sniffling slightly. "We did it with grace and style, in true Ravenette fashion! Janette would be proud of us!"

"Straight up!" Molly agreed.

"Well, why are we hanging around here when we have a bar of our own?" asked Kaiya. "Let's go have a few drinks, turn on the sound system full blast--and plot for next time. Because there will be a next time!"

And with that the Ravenettes turned on their collective high heels (and wheels) and retired.

Party Hearty At The Happy Souvlaki, Chapter 3
by Kimmer

Tuesday, July 17, 2001
takes place at the Happy Souvlaki Deli, at the FoDs party

Kimmer wasn't sure of the exact moment in time, she was watching, but she couldn't say for sure. All she really knew was, after Janette and Lacroix had finished dancing together, they were themselves again.

"Wow..." was all she could breathe. Becoming each other, becoming one in the dance, becoming themselves. It was extraordinary.

Janette and Lacroix, now themselves, were deep in conversation. Molly tapped Kimmer's arm, to get her attention.

"It worked, huh?" Molly said. "The Vitamin U?".

Kimmer nodded, still amazed at what she had witnessed. "Looks like it to me, Molly. C'mon, let's go try some of Mindi's cake. I need a drink, too".

Claudia, LeeAnn, Time and Lorna motioned for Kimmer and Molly to join them at their table. The Ravenettes talked excitedly about the change, and the apparent success of Vitamin U.

The FoDs party was a success! The turnout was huge, the premise was solved. There was much food and drink, good music, much merry-making.

The Ravenettes spent some time on the dance floor. Finding their hosts, they wished Mr. and Mrs. Schanke the happiest of anniversaries, thanked Cindy and the rest of the FoDs and headed back to the Raven.

It was almost time to go home.

Watching Janette and LaCroix in each other's bodies together made for a great night they were beautifully dressed, well Janette and LaCroix do have great taste in fashion. Mindi made a perfect selection for the music which set the mood, and drinking a glass of Janette's wine from her cellars relaxed me no end it's been a trying War.

Talking to the other Ravenettes I felt a bit sad as soon it will be over, but it had been crazy war with no rhyme or reason but I suspect the reason will be revealed soon.

"At least there's been no fashion or bad make up attack on Janette this unlike the last" commented to Molly who agreed. "Couldn't stand another attack like that one, sure is a great party don't you think"

"Yeh have to admit the Fod's do know how to make a good party almost as good as we do" Alex said to Molly and Kimmer.

Kaiya brought me a cake and a refill for my glass, "Hmmm delicious cake Mindi don't suppose you'll give the recipe"? Mindi just smiled and took a bite of her cake. Oh well I'll just have to wait till the next war for some more cakes I thought.

We Are Family
by the Warmistress and her minions (thanks, minions!)

Time: Middle of Schanke's anniversary party, after all the factions have arrived

The partygoers mulled around, wondering where (and for that matter, who) the Guest of Honor was. Suddenly, a commotion at the door caught their attention.

Schanke and Tracy burst through the entrance, shouting, "We've got it! We are each other!"

"We know that, Schanke," FoD leader Cindy pointed out.

"No, no, no. I know you know *that*. We *really* are each other, switched or not," Tracy in Schanke declared. "Who am I?"

"You're Tracy, and we love you," Anita, the DP leader, said.

"But what else am I? What's my job, besides being a *good* cop, that is?. I'm Nick's partner!"

"Right ..." Anita and her co-leaders, Wolfy and Anne, looked at each other in confusion.

"And what am I?" Schanke in Tracy asked. "I'm Nick's partner, too! See? We truly are each other!" He grinned appreciatively and gestured at the crowd."And it's not just me and Tracy. All of us are each other."

The crowd began eying each other furtively, trying to imagine themselves in each other's shoes, non-sensible or not. It was not a pretty picture.

"But how has that caused the switches to happen?" a puzzled Katrinka asked.

"I think I know the answer to that." UFer Kathy stepped forward shyly. "I've been pondering this a lot. We all made this happen, with our imagination and our writing."

"You mean we all caused the switches to happen?" asked Kimmer.

"In a way, yes," Kathy continued. "Look at all the differences in characterization among the three seasons of the show, let alone the factions, and all the fan fiction. Every person has his or her own interpretation of th e characters. Two writers might take the same exact situation and characters, go off in totally different directions, and come up with a totally different story."

"Well, which one's the right one, then? I mean, a person, oops, a character is what a character is." This from Vaq leader Felicia.

"That's my whole point. There isn't a RIGHT one. I think that is what's been causing the personality switches. Think back to the last few wars, and all the on again off again faction divisions and rivalries. There's been so much dissension about what the characters really are. So many different portrayals. So much argument. I think the characters went on overload, not knowing who they were any more."

"So how do we get them back to themselves, then? And get them to stay put?" questioned NNP Susan.

"By doing what we've been doing. Writing collaborative stories. Accepting different viewpoints. Agreeing to disagree. Remembering that we're one big happy FK family," Kathy concluded.

"I think I'm going to be sick," the GHP said.

"Indeed," LaCroix (in Janette's body) said under his breath, although he couldn't totally contain his interest.

"But we've been doing that, haven't we? At least for this war. So how come they keep switching?" interjected NatPack leader Debra Ann..

"They'ze keep switchin' cause this is a two week war an we' had a haf sometin to rite about," Libby squealed. Johnsie and McLisa nodded their heads side to side in agreement.

"Then how do we make them stop?" asked UFer Les.

"By holding hands in a big circle, clicking our heels, and saying "There's no place like Toronto?" MercMommy Mildred smirked and the other Mercs snickered.

"By writing premise resolutions into Schanke's anniversary party posts!" Kathy declared.

"Hw do we know that will work?" asked Comfy Cottage resident Kezia.

"Because the all-powerful and mysterious Warmistress says so."

"Ahhh!" A deep sigh of collective relief went through all the partygoers. People began to smile at each other. Even Knighties and Cousins, Ravenettes and NatPackers, too. A few even hugged.

"Oh, I don't care if you people never change back!" the GHP declared, "All this touchy feely crap is disgusting! There's got to be some other solution that doesn't involve being nice that you people have been working on d uring the war. Not all of you are Knighties. I want to see some action!" The GHP snapped her fingers. "F. Hugh!" A sizzle-hiss-pop! produced the tiny dark body of the Poobah's fanfic fairy. "Compile me a list! Cross-refer ence! Itemize! Amortize! In hand! Now!"

Crrreeeeek! *Poof!*

A yellow and black book popped into the Mercbard's greedy grasp. The front cover read, "War XI Premise Wrap-Up For Dummies." She began to flip through the pages, skipping the chapters about hugging and sing-alongs. "Ah! C hapter 15: Pulling Everything Together" She turned the page, reading aloud as she skimmed."Note: It is necessary when wrapping up a premise to have all major characters (such that they are) and War players within the same room, for example, the Schanke's anniversary party." The GHP looked up, glanced around the room, and nodded decisively. "Check. Got that sucker covered."

"No, wait!" Christy from Nunkies Anonymous called. "Patt's not here. She stayed at the Shrine to rest after the bar fight."

"Crap. You Nunkie people are always messing around! Get serious!" The GHP flipped back to a previous chapter: Rules, Provisos and Exceptions. Laurie threw her hand in the air and recited another segment. "...All recommend ations, rules and requirements set forth in this manual apply to all War players except Patt. She's special."

"That's not fair!" Knightie Co-Leader Eowyn complained.

The GHP shook the book in the air. "I didn't write this junk. Don't complain to me. Just keep hugging stuff, and let me read."

"Let me see that!" Cousin Tok reached over and grabbed the book out of the GHP's hand. The MercBard turned to complain, but seeing both Janette and LaCroix, to say nothing of a horde of Cousins, standing behind the Cousin ly Leader, she reconsidered.

Cousin Tok picked up where the GHP had left off, continuing with the Wrap-Up. "...Following is a list of notable anomalies contributing to the switch phenomenon. Address each one (and any other) successfully, and the war premise will be solved..."

1) Variance in fan fiction interpretations leading to conflict and disagreement over which characters are genuine.

2) Deficiency in Vitamin U leading to personality disorders.

3) Mercs giving away free chocolate. (At this, MercMommy Mildred began heading to the door.)

4) The wrong ice cream cones are intersecting in secret physics lab on U of TO campus

5) Asteroid files missing from observatory. (Check with aliens)

6) Llama has communal dung pile in her 'Relationship Paddock'

7) Old, Dead Guy reanimated in Nunkies Anonymous Shrine is ready to destroyeveryone.

8) Vachon's Amazing and Transcendental Motorbike is lonely. Needs new friend.

9) Fried war brain cells replaced by fried real life brain cells.

"That's easy! Let's get busy writing," Cousin Tser said, as Cindy and the FoDsstarted handing out paper, pencils, and laptops.

The factions erupted in cheers, whoops, whistles, and yep, even bounces. TheKnighties tried for a puppy pile. A few others began to form a circle for agroup hug.

Suddenly, a strange woman burst through the mansion's doors. She lookeddisheveled and confused. Too many strange events had happened to her since shehad arrived in Toronto almost two weeks ago.

"I'm ready!" Mary Sue shouted, a manic smile on her face. "I know what's goingon! I know why I've been so disheveled and confused, to say nothing of manicand lost. It's ... because ... it's ... WAR!"

Her smile turned to a frown as she stared at the crowd. This bunch sure didn'tlook very warlike to her. In fact, everyone seemed to be almost arm in arm, reeking love, happiness and tolerance. Even the vampires looked plea sed. Not awarlike persona in sight.. *What* was going on?

She stood silent as the crowd began to hug. When it seemed as though LaCroixand Janette were about to join in, she ran screaming from the mansion.

"ARGH!!! I'm going back to my research center. Living underground *has* to be better than this!"

Party Hearty At The Happy Souvlaki, Chapter 1
by Kimmer, Molly/Stormborn & Lorna

takes place on Tuesday, July 17, 2001
at the Raven Night Club and at the FoDs Party at the Happy Souvlaki

Lorna looked around the Raven. She had not been very involved in this war, the week she had spent in the hospital shortly before it started having taken its' toll. Still, it had been wonderful coming to Toronto and being with old friends, making new ones, and hanging out with Molly's lizard, Bill. The party tonight was going to be fun, and just what she needed. Thankfully, Janette knew the best seamstress in Toronto, so she had something comfortable yet stylish to wear. This was no small feat for the seamstress to accomplish, as Lorna was now confined to a wheelchair. Fortunately Miklos was attending this party, too, and would be available to push her around any long distance. This made Lorna very happy, for now she would not have to wear those ugly bicycling gloves to protect her hands. Instead a diamond dinner ring graced her right hand, diamond tennis bracelet her right wrist, and diamond watch her left one.

Kimmer, Molly, Mindi, Kaiya and Teresa joined Lorna at her table. They popped a couple of bottles of champagne to drink before they left. Miklos was behind the bar, stashing a few bottles of the House Special in a portable bar for Jacroix and himself. Alex and Jason were making sure the bars in the limos were well-stocked. Chanda, Time, Claudia and LeeAnn came into the bar, chatting away and laughing. They decided to join in on the festivities, opening champagne and sitting at the bar.

The Ravenettes were getting a little too comfortable, Kimmer decided, and it was time to leave. Alma and the fledglings were looking forward to having the place to themselves for a change. "You'll miss us when we're gone!" Kimmer had declared earlier to Alma, who threw a well-aimed heel at Kimmer's head. Kimmer rubbed the area the shoe had made contact with gingerly, positive that she had a little bump. She hurried to her room to recomb and add a little more mousse. Then, it absolutely was time to get the Ravenettes out of the bar.

"Mindi, Mindi!" Kimmer hollered over the merry-making din. Mindi dutifully set her glass down and gave Kimmer her undivided attention. "Are you all done with those goodies you promised to bake earlier today?".

Mindi nodded, and jumped up, eager to show off her latest culinary treats.

Molly, Time, Teresa, Claudia and LeeAnn helped Mindi bring out her creations. After much oohing and aahing, and pushing the men back out the door ("It figures Alex and Jason would come back in, when we get the food out!" Kimmer had whispered to Molly, who chortled in agreement), it was time to box up the goodies and head to the FoDs party.

It took two limos to get all of the Ravenettes, with Jacroix and Miklos in tow, to the Happy Souvlaki Deli. Upon arrival, they poured out and hurried to the front door. It was time for another party!

Molly sniffed the air cautiously as she entered the party with Lorna. The FoDs must have used some heavy-duty air neutralizer, for she caught not a whiff of stomach-turning lamb, and sighed in relief. Bill, who had become very fond of Lorna and was riding in a sack attached to the back of her wheelchair, stuck his snout out too. He gave a softly inquiring screech, then cocked his head at Molly. "Don't worry, Bill," she said. "There'll be brains--*cow*--brains, for you".

Cindy, the leader of the FoDs, came up to greet the Ravenette faction. Mindi showed her the boxes of treats she had baked that day, and Cindy found a FoD to help Mindi to the kitchen. Once she had her treats delivered, Mindi headed back to the party. It was time for some fun!

Party Hearty At The Happy Souvlaki, Chapter 2
by Mindi

Striding back into the party, Mindi grinned wickedly as she whispered something in Kimmer's ear before taking out a CD.... "Now, she murmured, let's show these people how to MOVE... and" she whispered to herself "How to really solve this War- thingy, in true Ravenette fashion- With STYLE!!!" Minutes later a song began to play... And slowly everyone turned to look at just WHO was coming in now....

The Ravenettes were all smiling as Ja Croix, (in Janette's favorite long, body hugging, raven-black velvet and silk dress) hair stylishly done, thanks to input from all the Ravenettes, slowly, regally strode into the room....

"Lady Bless Ja Croix looks stunning-" Mindi whispered "Of course she does honey!" Kimmer whispered back "La Croix's proud bearing and excellent posture look SO good on our lady!" The Ravenettes War Leader said with a smile at the newbie. "The clothes, the hair, oh Thank the Goddess! She looks fantastic" Molly whispered to the rest of the Ravenettes who all stood, mesmerized by the entrance of their patron.

Slowly (Janette in LaCroix's body)- LaCroix, (In Black raw silk Armani Of Course!) strode across the room and to where her body stood, poised on lethal looking stilettos that emphasized the length of JaCroix's slender legs. They both stared at each other for a moment before Mindi hit the "play" button on the sound system-Suddenly the music began to play and both Ja Croix and (Janette in LaCroix's body) La Croix turned to flash the trembling newbie a smile. Mindi had wanted so badly to do SOMETHING right in this War! So this was the best thing she had come up with, a great way to get Ja Croix and (Janette in La Croix's body) La Croix back together ... she only hoped it worked and that they wouldn't drain her for doing it! But at their smile she relaxed and watched, swept away as the two began to dance to "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress"....

"Well Done Mindi" Kimmer murmured softly to the Ravenette staring absolutely stunned by the beauty of the dance before her.

They moved together with the familiarity that only comes after years, no, centuries of practice. They flowed like water, not just moving to the music but becoming it, serious, tender, passionate and fun, they swept across the dance floor daring anyone to try and deny them this moment, father and daughter, teacher and student, one-time lovers, together.... and in that moment, in that space and time, no one dared...

Cake Baking Made Easy
by Mindi

takes place Tuesday, July 17, 2001
late morning/early afternoon at the Raven

"AIIIEE!!!" Mindi shrieked as she suddenly realized what she had done! "Yikes! I've got to get busy!!! I have to make more of these cakes in time for the party at the Happy... Slouvaki or whatever!" Whirling she vanished into the chaos that was the kitchen...

3 hours later...

"Hey, anyone know where Mindi disappeared to?" Kimmer asked looking for the Ravenette newbie. "Hmmm, last I saw her I think she was heading for the kitchen..." Molly volunteered "Only girl I know who LIKES to be in the kitchen-" she muttered with a sigh. "Okay" Kimmer said poking her head into the cavernous kitchen and immediately jumping back as Mindi, brandishing a spatula dripping with red batter that looked very "fitting" considering her murderous expression poked her head out saying "Out! Out until these are done!!!" She disappeared again but not before everyone noticed her ensemble... Despite the flour sprinkled liberally over it and a few batter drips, it was a very fashionable black hand woven cotton with the red "Raven" logo silk screened on it.

She went back into the kitchen, belting out a very good (if I do say so myself!) rendition of "Long Cool Woman In a Black Dress" the unofficial Ravenette Theme song as she whirled about...

Molly, Kimmer, Kaiya and a few of the other Ravenettes peeked in the windows on the French style doors and blinked.... Mindi was a dervish! racing from here to there, pulling one cake out of the oven and sliding it deftly onto a cooling rack before opening the refrigerator door with her foot and grabbing one of the many icing bowls to frost yet another confection that demanded her attention.

"Wow" was all Kimmer could say as they all backed away from the door to sit at the bar talking and drinking, wincing at the cacophony in the kitchen before...

"DONE!!!!" Mindi howled throwing her hands up striking a dramatic pose as she cried "Free at last! Free at last! Thank The Dark Lady of Toronto, and her killer kitchens! I am Free at Last!"

She was quite the sight, her apron was covered with flour, sugar, icing and chocolate!, her hair was wild, a few ebony tendrils sneaking free of the bun she had yanked it into, and on her one cheek...

"Mindi!" Kimmer gasped "You're bleeding!" Mindi blinked "Where?" she asked "You're cheek-" Mindi reached out and gently touched it before laughing "Oh no Kimmer, it's not blood, just batter!" She grinned evilly "That and I thought I'd do myself up like my favorite ex-assassin..." Both Molly and Kimmer grinned before all 3 Ravenettes yelled out "Kai!" Once they got their laughter under control, she grinned before saying, "s'done! 5 Red Velvet Cakes, 10 White chocolate Decadence cakes (Remember we''ve got Mercs and Natpackers! she whispered) 5 Dark-Death-by-Chocolate cakes, and a whole mess of other things... Never let it be said that the Ravenettes go to a party unprepared or empty handed!" Everyone cheered before Jacroix appeared and "tsk"-ed softly shaking her head "Cherie, ma petite, you may bake the best treats around, non? And certainment no one will say we came empty-handed! 20 cakes? Mon Deiu! But Cherie have you forgotten? Part of being a Ravenette is the element of style! And Cherie-" here she stared pointedly at her batter-stained and bedraggled appearance "THAT Ensemble is NOT it..." Mindi let out a quiet "eep!" suddenly noticing her appearance "Jacroix, I'm SO Sorry-" she began "Shh petite, just go change... you'll find a new outfit set out for you" Jacroix smiled at the Ravenette's amazed expression "Think of it as a 'Thank you'" she said before giving the still-stunned Ravenette a gentle push toward the stairs and her waiting room....

takes place Tuesday morning, July 17, 2001
after Kimmer gets cleaned up from the bar fight

Janette's limo pulled up outside the discreet office building. Wearing a dark head scarf, large black sunglasses, and cool, crisp linen, Kimmer hurried into the building.

"Dr. Schlockenberg will see you now," the receptionist told her.

Kimmer shook hands with the therapist, and sat down. She told him of the horrors of the bar fight, and being dressed in white polyester by the Elvi.

"You work at a bar, correct?" the doctor inquired politely.

"Well, yes, when I am in Toronto" Kimmer replied.

"Acts of violence, however unfortunate, do tend to occur in places that serve alcohol". Dr. Schlockenberg said, gazing intently at his patient.

"Doctor, you need to understand. I can throw a punch, and I can take one. That is not the problem. I was, was, accosted by a bunch of jumpsuit-wearing Elvi that dressed me in, in--" Kimmer halted, the tears brimming in her eyes. When she continued, her voice was but a whisper "....Polyester. And, and, it was *white* polyester".

Dr. Schlockenberg and Kimmer spent the next 45 minutes going back in time, digging around the roots of Kimmer's aversion to cheap, manmade fabrics and the color white.

It was painful, but they did achieve a breakthrough. Kimmer was able to overcome her fear of the Ravenette kryptonite, well, at least while she was sitting in the black Italian leather chair.

Boistered by her successful therapy session, Kimmer headed back out into the hot summer day, climbed into the dark, cool limo, and headed to Bloor Street. She would take her therapist's advice. She would grab the bull by the horns. She would overcome. She was going shopping!

The Last Bar Fight Post (We Think)
By, Like, A Gazillion People (who are all very tired)

Time: Late Monday/Early Tuesday
Place: The Raven

"You!" Jackson shouted, pointing a finger angrily at Christy as she left Janette-LaCroix's office. "I owe you from before. I'm gonna enjoy this."

Erik's voice wafted from behind him. "I'm sorry, sir, but if you'd like to speak to the Nunketeer, you'll have to make an appointment." This was punctuated by a sharp kick to the back of Jackson's knee, which collapsed under him.

Jackson turned his head and looked up at Erik. "And you! I'm gonna get you, cape-boy!"

"You'll have to get us both," Paul said, approaching from Jackson's other side. "Erik mentioned that you had shown some... interest in my sword. Well, let's see if you deserve it."

Jackson looked left and right, sizing up his opponents. Then, in defiance of all natural laws, he leapt straight up, hurdled a rafter, and landed on a pool table across the bar. He grabbed the bridge from the cue rack with both hands, wielding it like a staff.

Erik and Paul looked at each other and nodded. They kicked backwards, breaking a barstool, and each grabbed one of the legs, as if they were wooden practice swords.

"Finally," Jackson called, leaping forward across the bar and landing in front of the Addicted Duo, "I will have what is mine!"

Kimmer was still shooting off streams of seltzer, and when she emptied a bottle, she'd toss it into the fracas. The waving hands of the bar fighters bobbed the canisters over the heads of the throng, as though they were beach balls released into the audience at a rock concert of the crowd at a football game.

The Ratpackers crawled to the edge of the rumble, pushing others out of the way to catch Kimmer's seltzer missiles in their mouths. Johnsie made it first, but caught a mouthful, squinted, then wound up with a stream flying up his nose. "H'it tickles!"

Libby pushed on his head, then stood on his shoulders to get in the way of the water instead. Catching a gulpful, she squealed, "Wot, no sugar free rasp-berribee syrupy stuff ta go wit' h'it?" then bounced off Johnsie's shoulders to push him back in front of the spray in her place.

Being a good hostess, in or out of bar fights, Kimmer ducked behind the bar and pulled out a pump of 'Super Sticky Syrp Berribee Slop' and began squirting it on the bar patrons faster than you can say 'fake blood' at a GWAR concert.

Karen and Felicia leapt out of the way, grabbing hold of the chains mounted from the ceiling, and began to swing like Tarzans into and out of the mob, kicking and screaming war cries as they pendulum-ed back and forth.

Laura ducked, crawled around the bar commando-style, then straightened like a lance. Swiping off her bowler, she flicked it like a James Bond evil henchman, knocking the berry syrup bottle from Kimmer's grasp. The Ravenette's battle luck ended, for four Elvii (one suspiciously in a sequined bathrobe) grabbed her by the shoulders and pulled her over the bar. The formed a huddle over Kimmer's flailing form, blocking her from view. When they stepped back, it revealed the Ravenette leader was now sporting a white polyester jumpsuit ensemble. (White polyester = Ravenette kryptonite)

Celeste sat under one of the few still-standing tables in the aptly named bar, stirring her fourth Bloody Mary with one pinkie. Her once well-coiffed hair hung limp, as did her ex-spiffy designer dress. She briefly considered dumping the tomato-based drink on her head, but suppressed the impulse and put it where it would do the most good, down her throat. It was a stiffish drink, and her eyes squeezed shut at the beautiful pain as it burned its way down.... when she opened her eyes again, she found herself staring into one great, big EYE--

"Eeeee!" the Cousine shrieked a fairly girly shriek and would have jumped back a foot but for the fact that she was parked securely on her butt.

"My moose says," the eye said, pulling back, "my McMoose say, 'you stink!'"

"Mc-*LEEE*-sa!" said the Cousine, pissed in more ways than one. "You could have come up with something better than that. How about, um, my moose says, 'Take care of the sounds and the scents will take care of themselves.'"

"My moose never read Alice in Wonderland," McLisa said. "Plastic, you know."

The Cousine's nose wrinkled with distaste as she slowly became aware that she wasn't the only one hiding out under the table with an odor problem. "You are no spring rose yourself, McStinky-Chick."

"Sewer," said McLisa succinctly.

"Sue *who*" said Celeste. "There are just SO many people whose fault this is. It would kind of like be the opposite of a class-action suit."

Gozer, who has attended at least two bar fights in his short little kitty-cat life, appeared in the air in front of them, or at least his head did. His little evil-yellow eyes blinked in surprise at the dreadful smell of skunk juice and sewage, then suddenly his nose disappeared. The sight of a disembodied cat head without a nose was almost, but not quite, enough to send the two inebriates back into a kind of grossed-out sobriety.

"Now, *that*," said McLisa, "is not something you see every day."

"Or would want to," rejoined the Cousine.

The little disembodied kitty head gave a little disembodied kitty-head raspberry of disgust and disappeared.

"Shall we?"

"Let's"

The two women shakily climbed out from under the table, and just in time, as a rather large body hit the table, sending it crashing across the room.

The three-way battle between Jackson, Erik, and Paul raged on. Neither side had managed to land a solid blow, although there had been some close calls on both sides. Jackson seemed to have an uncanny knack for *knowing* from where the next attack was coming, and was there to parry almost before the strike was delivered.

The tide of the battle turned suddenly when Jackson managed to hook the tip of Erik's stick with the metal portion of the bridge, yanking him forward and off-balance. Then, as if Jackson knew Erik's weak spot, he slammed the other end of the bridge into the back of Erik's hurt shoulder, driving Erik to the ground. His other adversary all but forgotten, Jackson stood over the fallen Nunkamale, poised to deliver a last, great blow.

With a violent scream of "NOTHING PERMANENT!", Paul surged forward and swung his weapon, sending it into the small of Jackson's back. The larger man crashed into a table and fell to the floor. Before Paul could reach him, though, he managed to make it to his feet and return to a ready stance.

"Okay, *boy*. Let's see what you've got," Jackson mocked as he began a sweeping attack.

Paul parried the attack and pulled close to Jackson. "What I have, I believe, is the sword you want," he hissed before pushing away.

This had the intended effect on Jackson, causing him to lose his temper. He lashed out at Paul with a volley of strikes and thrusts, which the younger man had difficulty keeping up with. However, the constant parries stressed the bridge greatly, and Paul took his shot.

Following a parry of the metal end of the bridge, Paul swung his makeshift sword down at Jackson's head. Jackson moved to intercept with the center portion of the staff, just as Paul knew he would. However, the bridge had taken too much punishment, and Paul's attack broke straight through, shattering the bridge into two pieces, and continued downward to wallop Jackson right between the eyes.

Jackson fell to the ground with a very surprised look on his face, cracking his head on the floor. Paul stood over him, smirking. "Too bad. Guess you don't deserve the sword, after all."

Jackson was too stunned to reply, and Paul left him there and moved to help Erik to his feet.

Patt finally wandered into the room again from her conversation with Janette-LaCroix, saw the signs of continuing rumble, and let out a heavy sigh. "Are you people still going at it? I'm tired." She stepped behind the bar, dodged around Laura, who was now thwapping Deanie and Val with American Beauty roses, and raided the beer fridge. Reaching around the Heinekin bottles and the latex head of an Egyptian tomb-raider, she pulled out an ice-cold Bud. "Ahh. Ambrosia."

Patt tilted her head back to take the first refreshing sip.

*Wiffle!* *DOOM* *Crack!* *Splash-Dribble-Dribble*

Tracy Sue had shattered the bottom of her Bud bottle with a well-placed whack of her bat. Patt looked down at her shirt, saw the spreading stain in the fabric, and contemplated sucking on the hem. She was very thirsty. The sight of her ruined beer bottle was too much to bear, and Patt rolled up her sleeves for one more round. "I'll get you, you slacker, and your little llama, too!"

As Patt proceeded to 'mature' the Vaqmadre, Johnsie popped up behind Christy tugged on her mousy protuberances. "Tol' ya they weren't real h'ears," Johnsie announced as they tumbled off. She thunked him in the nose, played Parcheesi on his feet with her non-sensible shoes, and crammed her Happiest Crown On Earth back on her head. (Because a Nunketeer's head is not to be messed with, unless you're a fellow faction leader.)

All at once, a spittoon fell onto the scene from the 'Muddy Waters' bar fight post, rimmed Christy's head (It pays to wear the mouse ears, baby!), then plopped upended upon Patt's noggin.

Everyone froze mid-punch. "Eehhhhhhhwwwwww!!!"

"That's it!" Patt yelped, yanking the spittoon off her head and tossing it away. (It landed later in Tracy Sue Morris' writing.) "Barfight over! I'm headed back to the Shrine for a shower and a good night's sleep!"

A Little Nunkies Does a World of Good
By Molly/StormBorn

Time: Monday afternoon
Place: Molly's bedroom at the Raven

Molly sat in the comfy chair thoughtfully provided by Janette, cuddling her lizard and alternately closing her eyes and opening them to stare into space. Shut off, brain, she ordered. Brain did not obey. She would have said it aloud, but was afraid Bill was picking up too much human speech, and 'brain' was a word she didn't want to say in front of him too often.

War was taking its toll on the GothPunk Ravenette. This was a woman who could intimidate Enforcers (OK, not the best specimens of Enforcers, but Enforcers never the less), who could write smut to raise pulses in several countries, who could even deal successfully with the phone company--and she was exhausted. The great thing about playing with a smaller faction was that one got to participate fully; the bad thing was that she had to do reading duties--and her reading assignments included keeping up with the NA. She groaned. Bill snuffled in sympathy.

"Anyone would feel the strain, my dear," came a cool voice behind her.

"Nunkies," she said softly.

JaCroix closed the door and came round to sit on the ottoman. "Inside this body, yes." He could be so kind, so gentle, at times and when he was it showed in his face. Now, it showed in Janette's face. "You look good in her. You don't mind wearing her clothes, her maquillage?"

"Not at all. I wouldn't want to diminish her image, now would I? However, let's talk about you."

"My favorite subject," Molly tried to joke.

JaCroix smiled. "You know, you haven't had a fantasy about me--LaCroix, that is--in some time."

"I haven't needed to. But I do now."

"So I see. Headache?"

"Bad one."

"Confused?"

"It's the NA!" Molly exclaimed. "They'd confuse anyone! They confuse themselves! The--the Chicken Woman, and Supaige assimilating things, and the missing Bons and Qa'ra the mummy, and the mysterious boat repairman, and--"

"Shhh. Here, let me." Cool hands moved to her forehead, gently moving in slow circles, then ran through her hair and down to massage her neck and shoulders.

"Oh...mmmm..." The minutes passed while Molly relaxed into the familiar massage and the soothing, meaningless words. It was bliss, sheer bliss. Until she remembered something.

"Ack!" she exclaimed, "They're coming tonight!"

The hands paused. "Who, my dear?"

"The Vaqueras," Molly sobbed. "Kimmer said they could use the Raven for a party. A--" she could barely get the word out-- "*karaoke* party!"

JaCroix shuddered. Like the Ravenette, she failed to understand the popularity of the karaoke fad.

But the situation, if they had only known, was going to get far worse...

Entering the Hive, Jacroix and the Ravenettes made their way to the guests of honor. Jason presented Julia with roses and a gift certificate to "Fashion Crimes". Alex delivered Lora's roses and a gift certificate to "Sirens". The Ravenettes all wished them the happiest of birthdays, and of shopping trips!

Miklos had given Alex a bottle of the House Special for Jacroix, which he opened for her with a flourish. The sound of champagne corks popping filled the air, and the Ravenettes raised their glasses in toasts to their hosts. The partying had begun in earnest!
